Above AVERAGE Film
Story :
Siddarth Varma (Siddarth) is free-spirited guy and lives with his mother Rajayalakshmi (Ramyakrishna), a college professor. His father Prakash (Prakash), a rich businessman, is separated from his mother. Geeta (Tamannah) comes to Hyderabad for higher studies and stays with her relative Gachchibowli Diwakar (Brahmanandam). Geeta and Siddarth have common group of friends and their acquaintance slowly turns into romance. When Siddarth approaches Geeta’s father (Nasser) seeking his daughter for marriage, he refuses to accept their love. He asks how can he give away his daughter to a family, which is broken. Now both the lovers take up the task to unite Rajaylakshmi and Prakash. Finally Siddhardh & expectations of audiences .Tamanna comibiation not reached.
Analysis :
It is a love story but showed differently. This film was a good family entertainer . I think it is a looking like Bommarillu movie. Because some many seens are very nearly to bommarillu movie. Konchem Istam Konchem Kastam strikes right chord with audiences. It is worth a dekko for its clean romance, interesting screenplay, great visuals, and good climax and not to forget the neat performances by the lead actors. New director Kishore blends love and sentiment drama perfectly. His handling of second-half and climax sequences has made the difference to this love-story. What strikes in the movie in the first place are its bright visuals (very excellent camera work by Vijay Chakravarthy). And then the lead pair’s chemistry - Siddardh and Tamanna are really a cute pair – makes the audiences to involve in the movie. The movie has very urban setting and the treatment is also urbane. Despite all these positive points, the film doesn’t rise to the level of ‘outstanding flick’. On the whole it ends up just a good romantic entertainer. It has its flaws too. Length (with nearly 2.50 minutes) is its biggest sore point. Music on the screen is very weak except for one or two songs. And also lacks entertainment.
Its is Above AVERAGE Movie.
Performances :
Siddarth looks very handsome than ever. His character is extension to the role that he has done in Bommarillu and NVNV. Like in these two movies, he goes through a ‘test’ to win his lover. Yet, like always, he comes out with good performances especially in the climax sequences. But the real scene-stealer is bewitching beauty Tamannah. She looks gorgeous and exhibits emotions rightly. With her girl-next-door dress sense, and depth in her performance attracts the audiences instantly. Her character is also well etched. Like Bhumika in Khushi, she is lovable and adamant.
Ever dependable Prakash Raju does the role of father to Siddarth for third time and he delivers goods. Ramyakrishna as mother to Siddhu gives matured performance. She looks beautiful too. Brahamanandam’s character as cricketer is unrelated to the story and lacks punch. It is Venumadhav who provides enough laughs and has good role to say. Nasser as caring father is okay.
Technically, Vijay Chakravarthy’s work catches the eye. His bright visuals bring positive mood to this romantic drama. Story is simple and straightforward but the screenplay ( Vikram Siri and Deepak Raj) has real depth. Yet, it drags on post–interval to some extent. Some of the dialogues by Abburi Ravi are heart touching. Music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is not great. But lyrics have good meaning (Chandrabose, Sirivennela). They are good to listen but on screen, they lack punch. Except the Panchire Panchire song, no number makes impact and the choreography of the songs is also bad.
Producer Nallamalupu Srinivas has invested lot of money for rich look of the film. His production values are good. New director Kishore exhibits his talent in handling the sentiment and romantic scenes. He is here to stay.
The Bottom-line of the film Konchem Istam Konchem Kastam attracts the youth and family audiences. Interesting second half, very excellent cinematography and Tamannah are major assets of the movie. Length is its biggest flaw. New director Kishore blends love and sentiment drama perfectly. And Showed differently.
