Venkatesh New Telugu Film Nagavalli Movie Review:
After Some Gap in Venky Career He is back again with his new film Nagavalli, But it seems to be not worked for venkatesh. This Film is sequel for Chandramukhi which was gaved a big hit to Rajinikanth. But This time this movie doesnt rechead the Expectations infact even it couldn't replaced the Chandramukhi. How ever this Film is Not Worked For Venkatesh.
Story:
Two deaths occur in a rich businessman's (Sharat Babu) house and he approaches a Siddhanti for dosha nivarana. The Siddhanti comes to belief that these strange things happened in the house after the businessman's elder daughter (Kamalinee) brought in a painting of a ghost called Chandramukhi. The ghost might be possessed in one of the bodies of the businessman's daughters (Sraddha Das, Richa and Poonam Kaur). To find which girl possesses Chandramukhi, he calls on physiatrist Vijay (Venkatesh) to come down to the house. Upon the doctor's arrival, he finds that there is connection between the erstwhile King Nagabhairava (Venkatesh) and the aatma of Chandramukhi (Anushka). How the doctor unravels the mystery of Chandramukhi aka Nagavalli forms the rest of the story.
Artist Performance:
Venkatesh does the role of a psychiatrist and as well as a King's role. In a role of evil king, Venky has tried to bring novelty but in another surprising role, his performance is nothing but a sham. One wonders how could Venky deliver such a bad performance, especially at his 25th year of acting career.
Though there are six heroines in the film, there is not much footage for any heroine in this movie. Anushka is good in the brief role that comes in the second half. Kamanilee Mukherjee is exceptionally good. Richa Gangopadhyay plays a vital role and she does justice. Shraddha Das plays a full length character and she is very good and different from what we have seen in her earlier movies. Poonam Kuar and Sujitha plays small characters. Brahmanandam is ineffective as the characterization done for him is stale. Dharmavarapu Subramanyam’s character pales in comparison with Vadivelu character in Chandramukhi. Avinash is very good as psychic. Sarath Babu, Prabha, Sana and Raksha are adequate.
Technical and Other Departments:
The royal sets designed by art director Chinna are eye-catching. Sham K Naidu's visuals are equally cool. Music by Guru Kiran lacks punch. Visual graphics are nice. Rama Rajamouli styling to the character of king and Anushka are aesthetically appreciable. Costumes Krishna should also be commended for his effort.Dialogues by Parachuri Brothers are theatrical. P Vasu, who belongs to old school of film making, as writer and director has not shown any creativity nor his screenplay holds the audience's interest.
Analysis:
The film happens to be the sequel to the super hit movie ‘Chandramukhi’. While the first half was breezy and quick, it is the second half which loses momentum and few scenes get dragged. Technically, the film has been made very well with rich visual effects and sounds but content wise, the film didn’t have the stuff or content to engage the audience or keep them hooked to the film. At the box office, the family audience will like the film and masses will take it to an extent given the presence of Venky. This will be an average grosser.
Final View:
Nagavalli lacks the thrilling moments like Chandramukhi had . It is more like re-enactment of the original movie with new set of actors and adding Arundhati elements to the drama. Some episodes in the second half are the only saving grace.
